Joan Marie (Timm) Falkiner:
Joan’s family wishes to announce her passing. Born on March 9, 1941 to Howard and Alice Timm. Married to Ron for almost 64 years. Grateful to call her Mom – Karen (Brian) Schneider and Will (Emily) Falkiner. A truly dedicated grandma to Jake (Emilie) Schneider and Mason (Macey) Schneider. Dear sister to Jean Cromwell, brother-in-law Ray Falkiner and an Aunt to 8 nieces and nephews. Joan is predeceased by her parents Howard and Alice Timm, her in-laws William and Mary Falkiner, Sister-in-laws Rosemary Falkiner and Doreen Falkiner, and Brother-in-law Ross Cromwell.
Joan will always be remembered by her longtime friend of 65+ years Marlene Bauman who was Joan’s travelling companion on many worldly excursions to all seven continents. Many laughs and shopping trips were had with her caring nurse friends from the former Woodstock Hospital 2nd East unit Kathy, Bev, Joan, and Stasia. Joan also always felt a deep connection with the Goderich Girls. Every visit was full of laughter with them.
Joan was a genuine role model when it came to being a volunteer. She started as a volunteer on 2nd East which led to a paid position. She was an energetic team member with the annual Christmas Place in Woodstock for many years. Her giving back to her community rubbed off on Karen, Jake, and Mason as they all began volunteering at a young age.
Joan passed away at Secord Trails in Ingersoll on June 10, 2024. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr Joel Wohlgemut and the entire staff at Secord Trails for the excellent care Joan received.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a meet and greet for family and friends to celebrate, recognize, and remember Joan’s life on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 1 to 3 pm at the Woodstock District Community Complex (Red Rink / Mezzanine) 381 Finkle St, Woodstock ON, N4V 1A3.
