Joan Marie Doyle
March 14, 2023
February 5, 1956 – March 5, 2023
It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Joan Marie Doyle. Joan was born on February 5, 1956 in Ste. Rose Du Lac, Manitoba to Joseph and Agnes Guiboche, and passed away on March 5, 2023 at the age of 67 after a short battle with stage 4 Brain Cancer.
Joan is survived by her sons Marty and Richard; daughter Janet and daughter-in-law Amanda Young. Joan was grandmother to Autumne-Renee Chubaty, Brody Young, and Lucas Doyle; great grandmother to Haisley and Ellie Chubaty; and was a second mom to many of her children’s friends. Joan was the oldest of nine children, seven girls Violet, Debra, Noella, Josephine, Veronica, Donna, Sandra and two boys Gary (Floyd), and Beverly (Paul). With her extended family Joan carried titles of niece, sister in-law, auntie, and great auntie to her many nephews and nieces. Joan also kept lifelong relationships with her aunts and uncles along with many of the cousins she grew up with.
Joan gained a passion for travel at a young age which led her to living in many places throughout the country and province. Joan enjoyed road trips, fishing, camping, playing cards, bowling, bingo, but most of all enjoying a meal with family and friends. When she was younger Joan enjoyed dancing, playing pool, and road trips to places she had never been. As she grew older and started her family, Joan enjoyed baking, cooking, reading, listening to music, and more dancing and road trips. Joan grew up in a religious family where she began her relationship with God at an early age. She learned his teachings and never waived from her beliefs through all of life’s trials and tribulations. She kept her faith in God through her first battle with ovarian cancer at twenty-eight, various medical issues, and the battle with brain cancer that eventually took her life. Joan was an amazing and special person who was willing to help others, would listen without judgement, and give the best advice she could. Joan’s first job was as a nurse’s aide at the Swan Valley Hospital. After leaving to live in Winnipeg, she worked in many areas of the hospitality and service industries. She was working for Maple Leaf Pork in Brandon until medical issues forced her to go on long term disability. Even though travelling became more difficult physically and financially, she still went on as many road trips as possible and even conquered her fear of flying before her brain cancer diagnosis in October of 2022. Joan showed great strength and courage throughout her battle and showed us that one more day, one more hour with loved ones was worth fighting for.
Our family would like to thank everyone in advance for attending the “Celebration of Life” service for our beloved mother, Joan Marie Doyle.
