It is with heartfelt sadness that the family announces the passing of Joan Alice Kellaway age 85 of Thunder Bay ON., Joan was born on November 9th, 1938 and passed away peacefully on January 9th, 2024.
Joan enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was a regular snowbird in Florida for many years. She was an amazing Avon lady who sold for many years, having many customers that became friends along the way.
Joan was predeceased by her parents Alice and Odie Goodsell, and in-laws Isabell and William Kellaway. She is survived by her husband Robert of 63 years, her 3 children Glen (Leah), Scott (Carolyn), Karen (Victor), 6 grandchildren Amanda, Eric, Dana, Courtney, Kristopher, Alysha, 5 great grandchildren Faryn, Jane, Rowan, Leo, Jude, and her 2 sisters Diane Forslund and Odean Goodsell.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hogarth Hospital 1North for the exceptional compassion and kindness you provided to Joan while she was in your care.
To honour Joan’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay or charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to the Blake Funeral Chapel, 200 May Street S.
