Parcourez la nécrologie de Joan Hill 1933 2023 résidant dans la province Nova Scotia pour le détail des funérailles
It is with profound sadness, my mom,
Joan Hill, passed away bravely and
peacefully on June 15, 2023.
Born in Toronto, ON, she was the
daughter of the late Horace and Clarice Hadfield.
Mom married Dad, her best friend, in
1955 and moved to Richmond Hill, ON. In 1995 they moved to Dieppe, NB
and resided there until Dad passed away in 1999. Mom made her final
move to Amherst, NS in 2001 to be closer to her family.
Mom had a wonderful life, enjoying the
warm winters on the Gulf Coast, Florida and the summers at the
Oceanview Campground in Barachois, NB. She enjoyed walking, reading
and was a long time fan of the Hamilton Tiger Cats. A devoted past
volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross; Salvation Army and thrift
store/soup kitchen; West Highland School Teacher’s Aide; Christmas For
Kids Program; and the Bike Safety Program offered by the Amherst
Police Department. She even tried Taekwondo when she was
80!
Mom was blessed to have many friends and
acquaintances in her life. Her «Sal Gals» as I affectionally
call them, were an important part of her later years and she was
grateful to have them in her life.
Mom is survived by her daughter,
Victoria Hill Gould, «son» (in-law) Gary; brother Ralph
(Evelyn) Hadfield; niece Michele (Manuel) Munoz, their children
Danielle (Scott) and Jason (Michelle); nephew Steven (Sandra)
Hadfield, Sarah Hadfield (Darryl) and Jacob Hadfield; as well as many
nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased
by her husband Donald.
Mom lived her life with strength, love
and tremendous joy. Despite her age and health, losing a wonderful Mom
and best friend is no less difficult and painful.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church
St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). The family welcomes you to drop in to
celebrate a life well lived and share stories and memories on Friday
June 23 at 6 Westland Court in Amherst, NS from 10 AM to 12 PM.
Internment will take place at Fairhaven Cemetery in Salisbury, NB at a
later date.
Special thanks to CRHCC (Emergency
department, Medical unit and 2nd floor nursing staff); All Saints
Hospital (2nd floor nursing staff); and Gables Lodge for making Mom
comfortable and part of your family. I could not be more grateful for
all of you.
