Obituary
Joan passed away peacefully with her loving husband by her side at Grey Bruce Health Services, on Monday, April 17, 2023. Born on July 20, 1953 in Hamilton, Catherine Joan Edworthy of Southampton, was in her 70th year.
Dearly loved wife and best friend of Donald Benedict for 14 years. Loving step mother of Lisa Eidt (Jason) and Keri Benedict (Alan Faulds). Proud grandmother of Harrison and Penelope Eidt and Robert Faulds. Dear sister of Marlene Chambers (Ed), Robert Edworthy (Mary Jane) and Barbara Dewetering (Dennis). Joan will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She was proud to be remembered as Aunt Joanie to her nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Mary Edworthy.
A Memorial Service for Joan Edworthy will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th Street West, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492 on Monday, April 24, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Craig Bartlett officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. two hours prior to the service. Interment in Hillcrest Cemetery, Tara at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Tara United Church would be appreciated.
