SAUER, Jim – Passed away peacefully at the St Catharines Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family, on Wednesday, July 19th, 2023 at 84 years of age. Beloved husband of Helen for 65 years. Loving father of Debbie Cronshaw, Brady (Brigitte). Cherished grandfather of Ryan (Jackie), Broc (Michelle), Bret (Amanda) and great grandfather of Aiden, Landon, Callie and Elliot.
Predeceased by his parents Walter and Florence and his son Brian. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his nieces, Vicky, Barb and Nancy, family and friends.
Jim was employed as an electrician with General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1989. He was an active member of the Welland Water Ski Club and was involved in the Mike Burwell Triathlon. His passion was being on the water in his boat. He loved the northern cottage country.
Jim was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humour. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all of his life experiences. His kindness was shown throughout the years as a hardworking man who would help his family and friends with anything that had to be done. He left a positive and lasting impression on a lot of people.
His wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his biggest joys and drives in life. His presence, guidance and mentorship will be missed. When his time came he carried himself with dignity, strength and love.
Many thanks to the doctors and nurses at the ICU in Welland, the CCU and Telemetry Units at the St. Catharines Hospital. Following Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Online condolences available at www.cudneyfuneralhome.com.
