Jileen Louise Julien – 53, Millbrook First Nation.
A beautiful lady, loved by so many, passed away peacefully, surrounded
by her children, family and friends, after a courageous battle with
cancer, on Monday, November 4, 2024, at Colchester East Hants Health
Centre, Truro. She will be greatly missed.
Born in Truro, she was the daughter of Bernie Francis and the
late Linda Julien. She is survived by her children she greatly
admired, Sienna Sipu and Warren Stormy Bear; siblings, Lorne
(Angelika), Melinda (Jesse), Gem Johnson, Llui Francis, Kalolin
Francis, Giancarla Francis, Valerie Matthews, Adam Gould; several
aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; Godchild, Faith Marie; her Eskasoni
family, Bertram «Muin» Bernard and family; her little dog,
Pups.
Along with her mother, she was predeceased by her maternal
grandparents, Sandy and Martha Julien; aunts, Angeline Paul, Sandra
Julien, Janet Bernard; uncles, Joseph Julien, Joe B
Marshall.
Jileen was a true wonder woman in many people’s
lives. She enjoyed cheering on her children and the neighbourhood kids
in various sports; she was always their number one fan. She always had
encouraging words, an uplifting spirit and infectious smile, gave the
warmest hugs and truly loved unconditionally. She always recognized
the good in people and focused on the positive aspects of her life.
Her fun, bubbly personality was always up for an adventure. She
enjoyed her trips down south with the girls, annual trip to
Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, karaoke, double up, laughing,
hosting family in her home and any event when family and friends came
together, especially with her cooking. She certainly was
Millbrook’s favourite cook; she loved preparing meals for
family, friends and community near and far.
May her spirit forever be a guiding light, reminding all of
us the power of love and beauty of family and community
connection.
We would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Colchester
East Hants Health Centre, The Palliative Care Team, Millbrook Health
Centre and her sister-cuzins for their kindness and compassionate care
during her final days. The family would also like to express gratitude
and appreciation to all those who reached out to offer words of
support, the prayer warriors, those who dropped off food and helped in
any way and Millbrook Youth Centre. Wela’liek
