It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry Lawrence Brazeau of Belle-Vallée, Ontario on June 4, 2023.
Born on November 2, 1945 to the late Marcel and the late Mildred (Bateson) Brazeau, Jerry was the oldest of 13 children. He is survived by 10 siblings (Bob, JoAnne, Helene, Carolyn, Raymond, Lucille, Dave, Rolly, Diane, Paulette). He was predeceased by his brothers George and John.
He is also survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Claudette (Carrière), his 5 children Cindy (Fern Déraîche), Jennifer (Marcel Boileau), Kristine, Michel (Sara), Jasmine (Scott Doan), 8 grandchildren Dominique Déraiche (Marc Éthier), Bailey (Devon Manners), Christian Déraiche (Anna Wood), Brendan Drury (Billie-Anne Thibault), Madison Brazeau (Dominic Éthier), Chase Drury (Kaitlyn Gervais), Katie Savoie and Alex Savoie, 2 great-grandchildren, Audrée Éthier and Joseph Déraîche, and auntie Irene. He will be especially missed by his 2 nieces Ariane and Ève, and fondly remembered by his sisters and brothers in-law, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jerry attended Fatima high school and started working at an early age at Rexwood. He spent most of his life, since the age of 21, working in the school bus business for Brazeau Bros., Narl-Armstrong and Willard Bus Lines.
Jerry loved potatoes and especially French fries. He was a keen Jays and curling fan as well as an avid reader. Jerry was very involved in his community, always ready to lend a hand. He was, at one time, a counselor for Dymond township. He was a member of his church’s board at Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours in Belle-Vallée.
Jerry’s memorial mass will be held at Église Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours in Belle-Vallée on August 26, 2023 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the SPCA. Condolences and memories may be left at www.buffamleveille.com
