Jeremiah «Jerry» Hulsman Obituary
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry Hulsman on February 4, 2024. Beloved husband of Lynda (nee Griffin) for 56 years. Loving father to Aimee Hayes and her husband Shannon, Julie O’Donnell and her husband John and Keri Hulsman and her husband Todd MacMullin. Cherished Papa of Lauren, Luke, Avery and Logan. Dear son of the late Josephine and Charles Hulsman. Beloved brother to Helen Belanger and her husband Gerald, Jim Hulsman and his late wife Sandra, Ann Gray and her husband Garnet, and the late Rita and Al Peppiat. Sadly missed by his many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Jerry was a man of exceptional character and integrity. He dedicated himself to nurturing his family, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to their happiness and well-being. He was the heart and soul of his family.
Jerry approached life with a relentless work ethic. As a skilled mechanic, Jerry owned and operated Jerry’s Auto Service for over 40 years. He possessed an innate ability to diagnose and solve the most complex mechanical problems. His resourcefulness and analytical mind were incredible. He was a problem solver in the truest sense. Many sought his advice not only for his mechanical expertise, but also for his remarkable ability to find solutions in the face of any challenge.
Beyond the confines of the shop, Jerry found joy in the outdoors. Whether it was golfing, tending to his garden or relaxing on the deck, he found purpose and connection with nature. One of Jerry’s greatest delights was amidst the tranquility of the woods. They were his sanctuary, his playground and home to many memorable four wheeler rides with his grandchildren.
Above all, Jerry took the most pride and joy in his family. He was truly happiest when in their presence and demonstrated the importance of cherishing moments with those we love. A loving man, Jerry was the epitome of dedication and sacrifice. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family, always ensuring that their needs were met and that they had the opportunities to enjoy the simple pleasures of life.
Jerry leaves behind a legacy of selflessness, unwavering determination and boundless care and kindness that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Friends will be received at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough on Sunday February 11, 2024 from 1:00-3:00 PM. Funeral Prayers will be held at the Highland Park Funeral Centre on Monday, February 12, 2024 at 12:00 PM. Interment at Highland Park Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Funeral Centre.
