Obituary of Jeff Thompson
At his home on Monday, December 9th, Jeff Thompson of Brussels passed away at the age of 62.
Loving husband of Mary Ann (Bernard) Thompson. Cherished step-dad of Shauna Alcorn (Matthew Yuen), Kali Alcorn (Steven Mallett) and Darby Alcorn. Adored Papa of Reed and Penelope. Jeff was the son of the late Bob Thompson, step-son of Lorraine Storey and son-in-law of Joan Bernard and the late Howard Bernard. He will be fondly remembered by his in-laws; the late Gwen Doherty, Keith & Sharon Doherty, Dianne & David Diehl and Cindy & Harvey Kikkert, sisters Beck Thompson and Deven Thompson and his many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Jeff’s love for animals was a defining part of who he was. He had a particularly soft spot for his two rescued cats, Buddy and Mick, who brought him comfort and companionship. Whether it was spending time with his family, tending to his beloved pets or offering a helping hand, Jeff’s caring nature left a lasting impact on all who knew him. However, Jeff’s most special calling was being a Papa. Reed captured his heart and never let it go.
A service to honour Jeff’s life will be held at Brussels United Church, 61 King Street, on Wednesday December 18th at 1:00 p.m. Reception will follow in the church basement.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Jeff, donations to the Bayfield Forgotten Felines or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
