With great sadness, the family of Jeff Doull announce his passing on Saturday, May 20th, 2023 in the arms of his beloved and surrounded by loving family.
He leaves behind the love of his life, Laura (nee Fox), children and grandchildren he was very proud of including daughter Jessica (Chris Cooper) & son Richard Whitelaw (Erin), granddaughters Kaleigh, Ava, Charlie and grandson Ben. Jeff is also survived by his sister Diane (Dale Schille), brother Mitch, mother-in-law Agnes Fox, sister-in-law Lisa (David Griffin), brother-in-law G Craig Fox (Elizabeth «Lisa»), Uncle Glenn Nicholls, nieces and nephews Rebecca, Kyle, Keith, Kiera and Serena, dear friends David and Donna George, Pat and Dee Robertson, and many more friends and relatives. Pre-deceased by his parents Jim and Isobel (nee Nicholls), brother Greg, and Uncle Al and Aunt Doris with whom he had a very special bond.
Jeff lived his life with joy and kindness. He enjoyed literature, especially Shakespeare, and loved debating. Jeff enjoyed people and chose professions in sales and education where he was able to engage in his passion – chatting.
Over the past 20 years, Jeff battled symptoms of multiple sclerosis which slowed his journey but didn’t stop him from proudly reminiscing about his adventures on the open road, in the air and at sea. He was a proud member of COPA (Canadian Owners and Pilots Association) for many years, flying small aircraft for pleasure.
Jeff was an academic at heart, a lifelong learner with his graduate degree focus on adult education. He was proud to have been a Professor at DeVry Institute and in Brock University’s Adult Education programs.
Following in his grandfather Doull’s footsteps, in 2010 Jeff started his journey as a Mason. He was a member of the Lodge of Ancient Landmarks/Doric, a 32° member of the Scottish Rite, and a member of St. John’s Chapter #6 of the York Rite.
An avid Elvis fan, Jeff would like to announce «he has left the building» but «when Christ shall come with shout of acclamation to take me home, what joy shall fill my heart. Then I shall bow in humble adoration and there proclaim my God, how great Thou art.»
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 31 Sulphur Springs Rd, Ancaster, at 1 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service at 2 p.m.
A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on May 31st, also at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Ancaster. The Masonic service is open to family and friends.
Jeff’s family would like to express a sincere thank you to the many staff members of The Meadows LTC home who were kind and caring during his years there.
