Jean Mountford Obituary
MOUNTFORD, Jean passed away peacefully at Crown Ridge Place on Thursday, December 7th at the age of 91 years. Daughter of the late Thomas and Clara (nee Dallow) Harris. Loving wife of the late Dennis Mountford. Cherished mother of Roger (Janet), Susan (Bill), Joy (Doug), Jill (Dave) and predeceased by her sons David (surviving spouse Judy) and Peter. Jean will be sadly missed by her many grandchildren Tammy (Rob), Tara (Todd), Andrew (Vanessa), Amanda, Thomas (Erin), Daniel, Caroline (Nick), Roger and great-grandchildren Matthew, Chase, Charlotte and Drew. Jean leaves behind her brother Brian and wife Irene who reside in her beloved England and is predeceased by her sisters Elsie (Fred) and Mary (Bob). Jean will always be fondly remembered by her special friends Cathy Covert, Deby Lessard and Wayne Speck.
Jean always opened her home and heart, welcoming all who passed through her door. Her sense of humour and kindness endeared her to everyone. Her true passions were her family, St. George’s Anglican church and the Queen. She felt strongly that education and literacy was the key to a solid and peaceful future, and that a child with food in their stomach helped to ensure that future.
The family is forever grateful to the people at Crown Ridge Place for the support, love and compassion they provided.
While our hearts are broken, warm thoughts and memories will keep her spirit alive and provide the comfort needed to fill the void left by her passing.
The family will receive friends at the Weaver Family Funeral Home East, 29 Bay Street, Trenton on Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 6 – 8pm. Funeral service will be held at St. Georges’s Anglican Church, 9 John Street, Trenton, Ontario on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 12:00pm. Reception at the church hall to follow. Cremation will be taking place there after.
If desired, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Jeans honour to the Trenton Food bank and to Food for Learning.
