Jean Cormier, 74, of Grand-Barachois, passed away on
Saturday May 20, 2023 at his residence. Born in Shediac, he was the
son of the late William and Katherine (Gallant)
Cormier.
Prior to his retirement, Jean worked at Shediac
Lobster Shop for 35 years and then continued to work for the past 7
years at Cormier’s Auto Glass & Detailing. Jean
loved gardening, decorating his house for Christmas, and making
poutine rapes.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lillian; four
children: Jacques (Michelle) of Shediac Cape, Robert (Suzanne) of
Shediac, Diane Cormier (Donald Léger) of
Cap-Pelé, and Sally Beaupré (Dan) of
Halifax, NS; two sisters: Phylis Gautreau (late Gérald) of
Shediac, Jeannita Wilson (late Jim) of Ontario; two brothers:
Hervé (Yvette) of Shediac and Laurie (Estelle Gallant) of
Shediac; one sister in-law, Aline Cormier of Shediac; six
grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and
nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one
sister, Thérèse Gallant; two brothers: Emery and
Amédé.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette
Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (506-532-3297)
where the funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday May 25 at
3:00 pm. Visiting hours are Thursday from 1 pm until time of funeral.
Interment will be at Frenette Columbarium in Shediac. In memory of
Jean, a contribution to Canadian Cancer Society would be
appreciated.
