Parcourez la nécrologie de Jean-Charles Aubry 1958 2023 résidant dans la province Nova Scotia pour le détail des funérailles
It is with deep sadness we announce the
passing of Jean-Charles Aubry, age 65, of
Springhill, NS. Jean passed away at the Cumberland Regional Health
Care Centre on Thursday, April 13, 2023.
Born in Edmundston, NB, he was the son
of the late Aime Aubry and the late Muriel (Bosse/Aubry)
Wood.
Jean had a larger-than-life personality.
His smile lit up a room, his laughter filled it. He could easily work
his way into people’s hearts with his kind, generous soul. His family,
friends, and correctional community (provincial & federal)
loved and respected him dearly.
Jean loved the outdoors, a love that was
instilled in him at an early age by his parents. If you just mentioned
hunting or fishing, his eyes would immediately light up and the
stories would flow. He loved to share his childhood traditions and
various adventures with all who would listen. Over the decades, his
outdoor interests not only included fishing and hunting, but also
camping, snowmobiling, four-wheeling and boating of all types. His
most treasured memories always included family and friends, ie. time
spent at his hunting camp in Renous; creating a get-away with Dawn in
Rexton; hunting with his sons/grandchildren; camping with loved ones;
Sunday suppers at his grandparents growing up; spending summers in
Quebec when his sons were young; and attending sports
events/activities that involved the children.
After 50 years of living in his home
province of New Brunswick, Jean moved to Nova Scotia for ‘love’. He
and Dawn married in 2010, and he made his home with her in
Springhill….he quickly came to love Nova Scotia. Once Jean and Dawn
became a family, he took great pride in sharing his culture and
traditions with her and his extended family. Jean always had a passion
for passing on all his life lessons and acquired skills to his sons,
step-sons and grandchildren. In recent years, he loved the time he
spent wood carving with Dawn and showing his creations to the
world.
Jean was an avid Canadiens fan. He loved
to tease/torment anyone who got too close; to cook for family,
especially BBQ season; to shop, especially if he saw the word SALE or
the item was camo; travelling; making people laugh and laughing
himself. He would joke how life had changed over time; for example,
going to wings used to mean having some beer with his buddies but now
meant having Pepsi and wings with his grandchildren….he loved every
minute of it!!
Jean grew up moving around the province
of New Brunswick due to his father’s work. As an adult, Jean moved
around a lot due to his own professional career. As a result, Jean had
many ‘identities’ and it could be determined how someone knew him by
the name they used – Jean, Jean-Charles, John, Gino, the Soup Man, Mr.
Man, Jean Jean the dancing machine, ‘Joe’, the crazy Frenchman, Pepe,
Grampy.
Jean’s correctional career spanned 44
years of service; a fact he was very proud of!
