Jason Andrew Hugh Lyons
June 14, 1977 – September 17, 2023
Our dear Jason passed peacefully in the wee hours of Sunday, September 17, 2023 at Milton District Hospital. He had struggled bravely for a long time with Crohn’s disease but eventually lost his battle with the malignant melanoma that took his life. He leaves behind his beloved wife Stephanie and his adored three sons, Scott, Bradley and Cameron. Jason will be forever loved and missed by his parents Margaret and Bruce Lyons, brother Jim (Silvana), and sister Angie (Marco). Also mourning his loss are his mother-in-law and father-in-law Anna and Bill Lowe, and Stephanie’s sister, Melanie. He will be lovingly remembered by his many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends.
Jason grew up in Mississauga where he attended Corsair PS, Camilla Senior PS and Port Credit SS. It was here that he met Stephanie, his high school sweetheart. They married in 2002 and moved to Milton where they raised their three sons. Jason was an Ontario scholar, attended Victoria College, U of T, where he earned his B.A. He was an enthusiastic participant in Sea Rovers and a recipient of the Queen’s Scout Award. Heartfelt thanks to his longstanding Sea Rovers friends who provided immense support to Jason and family during his difficult journey. Jason will be missed by his colleagues at Thomson Terminals where he was a longtime, dedicated employee. Thanks to the Thomson family, Jim, Sally and Samantha who encouraged his continuing studies in Finance. We are so grateful for your support. The family sincerely appreciates the care that Jason received as a patient at Milton District Hospital and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. We extend a special thanks to his family physician, Dr. Michael Wong.
Jason is resting at McKersie & Early Funeral Home, 114 Main Street E., Milton, ON. Family and friends will be received on
Sunday September 24, 2023 from 2 pm – 5 pm. Private cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers and as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Milton District Hospital Foundation, would be appreciated by the family.
