Jones, Janice Marie – February 25th, 1954 – July 28th, 2023 ~ It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Janice Marie (née Miller) Jones on July 28th, 2023 at home with her family by her side. Beloved wife of 42 years to Barry Jones, adoring mother to Jennifer Whiteway (Kyle), Brent Jones (Janel), and Jeremy Jones (Monika). Dearly missed Grandma and Gma to Tucker, Kole, Nora, Harrison, Avery and Eva. Loving sister of Johnny Miller (Esther), Carol Third, Laura Miller and predeceased brother Chris Miller and brother-in-law Bill Third. Sister-in-law to Karen Parish (Ron), Gord Jones (Pauline), Lori Benson and Brian Jones. Beautiful daughter of the late John and Joyce Miller of Milliken. Daughter-in-law to the late Mel and Jean Jones of Uxbridge. Dearly missed Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Janice is sadly missed by friends near and far. Her laughter, playfulness and warmth will be forever remembered. Janice loved her dog Bo, loved being outside in her yard and cherished her time up north with family and friends. Janice loved going fishing with her husband and grandkids at the lake, in summer or winter. She was a talented artist who created incredible artwork throughout her years.
A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, August 19th, 2023, at Cambry Hall from 1:00-4:00pm. Donations can be made to the R. S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre, which would be appreciated by the family.
The family would like to thank the Palliative Care Team, Paramed nurses and PSW’s who showed incredible care and dignity for Janice in her final weeks and days. Thank you to the nurses, Dr. Yousef and Dr. Anjum of Lakeridge Health Cancer Center in Oshawa and Peterborough, for their care and comfort during a most challenging time.
