ROBLIN, Janet Elizabeth
April 12, 1942 – August 8, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janet after a brief illness at Scarborough Birchmount Hospital at the age of 81. She was the daughter of the late William and Louise Cane. She was the beloved wife of Rod and loving sister to Judy (Donald) of Picton. Dear stepmother to Scott, Penny (Rick) and Jodi (Joe) and sister-in-law to Karen and Cathy. Janet spent her career as a high school teacher, first teaching history and English and later English as a second language. During her teaching years she spent some time in Tenerife, a Spanish island, teaching English at the Berlitz School. After retiring she remained very active, travelling, golfing, skiing, bowling to name a few. Always in pursuit of enrichment she was an avid reader, belonged to a book club, and became a member of the Academy of Lifelong Learning where she participated in many courses and lectures both as a presenter and facilitator. Janet’s outgoing personality and her many acts of kindness and generosity will be very much missed by all her friends and associates. Cremation has taken place. A private family gravesite ceremony will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Newcastle Funeral Home.
