Jane Eccles Inglis (nee McCormick) passed away peacefully, Dec 5, 2023. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Russell and Martha McCormick, her sister Louise (Bob Pollock) and her husband of 60 years, Ken. Jane grew up in Watford and Owen Sound. She was a multi-sport athlete and even played at Maple Leaf Gardens. Not one to sit idle, she took up golf again in her 70’s.
Jane was involved in UCW, Wesley United Church Mimico and was a long-time volunteer driver for cancer patients and Meals on Wheels.
Mom was a great cook and her pies and tarts were legendary and family favourites.
Jane loved caring for, and being around, children as they seemed to keep her young at heart. She always had a Sheltie by her side and a cat on her lap.
Outside the family, her biggest love was duplicate bridge, both in Toronto and Port Elgin. She enjoyed winters in Toronto and summers in Port Elgin at her cottage and was fortunate to have a wonderful view of the lake in both places.
Jane will be missed by her children, Pam and Peter (Cathie), grandchildren Bryan (Stephanie), Craig, great granddaughters Riley and Eloise, brother-in-law Bill (Des), and her many nieces and nephews in the Summers, Pollock and Migas clans as well as her many other friends.
A family Celebration of Life will be held in the summer at the cottage.
A special thank you to all the caring staff and volunteers at Dorothy Ley Hospice.
