James Patrick O’Hara, affectionately known as Jim to his friends and loved ones, passed away on September 12, 2024, at the age of 56. Born on December 27, 1967
Jim’s love for his family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his common-law spouse, Isabelle. His children, Kaitlin, Amanda (Fanny Teselink), Krystal (Allan Layh), Jamie (Mike Lichty), and Kayla, were the pride and joy of his life. Jim’s legacy continues to live on through his cherished grandchildren, Taylor, Owen, Christopher, Josh, Patrick, Karson, Charlie, Ava, Masie, Layla, and Gavin, and he was a doting great-grandfather to Violet.
Jim is also remembered by his siblings, Jim Coddington, Valerie Erwin, and Michelle Erwin, who shared in his many adventures and will miss his amazing one-liners. He is survived by his parents-in-law, Marcel and Francine Dufresne, and his sister-in-law, Caroline Dufresne.
A lifelong fan of the Buffalo Bills and the Toronto Maple Leafs, Jim never lost faith that his beloved teams would triumph. His unwavering support and optimism were emblematic of his approach to life. Jim’s sense of humor was legendary, and he was known as the «gossip queen of Woodstock,» always ready with a story or a playful jab that would leave everyone in stitches.
Music, traveling and food were among Jim’s greatest passions. His love for exploring new places was only surpassed by his love for the melodies that accompanied him on his journeys. The soundtrack of his life was as varied and vibrant as the memories he made with friends and family along the way.
Jim’s presence was a light in the lives of those who knew him. His kindness was felt by everyone he met, and his selflessness knew no bounds. He was a man who lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with open arms and a mischievous twinkle in his eye.
