James Michael Peters ( Nee-Gan-Nodin)
August 8, 1962 ~ August 5, 2023
James passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He struggled for many years with ill health. James was born in Chatham, Ontario to First Nation parents, Burns Telford Peters (Potawatomi) and Violet Loretta Dodge (Ojibwe). James was a proud member of Caldwell First Nation whose ancestral lands are located at the most southern tip of Canada.
He is survived by his loving wife, Christine and his two kind and loving children, Jonah and Naomi. He will be dearly missed by his sisters, brothers, nephews, great nieces and nephews, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law as well as many friends.
Although he had to endure many hardships throughout his life, he was a man of humour and wisdom. He is now in the presence of his loving Creator who called him by name when he was just a child. He loved the Lord with all his mind, heart and soul.
Goodbye to a man who an inspiration to many and overcame incredible odds.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 8th at MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 10366 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill, ON at 1 p.m. followed by a service in the chapel at 2 p.m. Cremation.
