RICHARDS, James “Jim“ Lester – Peacefully passed away at the Lakeridge Health Hospital in Oshawa, Ontario on November 12, 2023 at the age of 71, surrounded by friends and family. Son of the late Walter and Doris Richards. Brother to Marie Collins (Steve) and the late Harry Richards. Uncle to Tiffany Carter (Phil) and Allan Frauts (Sonya.) Great Uncle to Jacob, Elliott and Kale Carter. Fondly remembered by his good friends Jashubhai “Jazz” Mistry (Sadhna) and Cindy Kong. Jim grew up in Trenton, Ontario and often shared great memories of his cousins and friends he cherished growing up with. Upon completion of his schooling, Jim worked for Stokelys, moving on to Schindler Elevator. In 1988, Jim moved to Toronto where we worked as a machinist along side his brother at “Richards Bronze Products,” and was an invaluable asset to the business until his death. Jim enjoyed his work, along with reading, and dining at his favourite restaurants, where he will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the Nurses and Doctors at Lakeridge Health Hospital in Oshawa. As per Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. If desired, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or your local food bank.
