Scobbie, James Lawrence – Jim passed away peacefully at his farm, surrounded by family, on Thursday, August 10, 2023. Beloved husband of Cheryl for 14 years, and predeceased by Josephine Scobbie (née Carrol) (1998). Loving father of Jim (Stephanie), Lissa, Larry, Dan (Leanne), Steve, Carson (Stephanie), Sean and Yvonne (Graham). Beloved stepfather to Andrew Gummer (LeeAnn) and Jennifer Gemmill (Raymond). Proud Grandpa of Ryan, Natara, Cole, Jacob, Ben, Linden, Abby, Sebastian, Anna, Christian, Evan, Jim, and Yvonne. Dear brother to his loving sister Betty Brentnall (Carl) and brother-in-law Dr. William Schroeder and predeceased by his sister Dr. Pat Schroeder. Survived by his mother-in-law Camillia Valleau, and brothers-in-law, Glenn Valleau (Helene) and Garry Valleau (Val). Jim will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Jim will be well remembered for his love of family, farming, and his passion of shaping the minds of many young adults over many years of his teaching career. In keeping with Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will take place at St. Luke’s Cemetery, Downeyville.
