James «Jim» Clifford Lawrence Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James “Jim” Clifford Lawrence, a longtime resident of Dawson Creek, British Columbia, on Thursday, July 27, 2023, after a long and happy 92 years of life.
Jim married Carlyann Clay on June 11, 1955. Their first years of married life took them to Fort Nelson, Boundary Lake, and Clayhurst, before settling down in Dawson Creek. Jim drove truck for many years before working for the Department of Highways. After retiring from the Department of Highways, he returned to driving truck once again. Jim also farmed their acreage in Silver Valley, Alberta on weekends. It was hard work and long hours.
After retiring from truck driving, Jim always kept himself busy with his morning coffees, bowling, golf, crib and floor curling at the Dawson Creek Seniors Hall. He loved his country and bluegrass music and loved travelling around to the many jamborees in the area.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving children Carrie (Joe), Sheryl, Alan, and Dwayne; grandchildren Tyron (Chelsea), Paige (Brian) and Braden (Shelby); great grandchildren Melia, Braxtin, and James; and siblings Yvonne and Bill (Lorraine).
Jim is reunited with his loving wife Carlyann, and siblings Edna, Hugh, Bernice, and Fern.
Jim’s family would like to invite you to join them for a Celebration of Life to be held at the Dawson Creek Senior Citizens Hall on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Please join the family for coffee, tea, sweets, and memories.
