It is with great sadness we announce the passing of James Ogston, beloved husband of 54 years of Patricia Ogston (Conners) predeceased July 25, 2014. Son of Bill and Margaret Ogston predeceased of Copper Cliff. Brother of Doug and Bill predeceased.
Survived by son Scott and wife Kim, daughter Stacey Daviau and husband Gerry, daughter Sherri Ogston-Tuck and husband Simon and son Sean and wife Michelle. Loving grandchildren Brad, Samantha, Katelyn, Sean, Sebastien and Gabrielle. Great grandchildren Kash and Sykorah as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jim retired from Bell Canada after 32 great years. He then went into Marketing for the Mid North Monitor as well as the Manitoulin Expositor for 13 and a half years, for a change and a challenge.
He was the past president of the Espanola Fish and Game Club and a member of the O.F.A.H. He served as the vice chair and director for the Espanola Hospital Board for 14 years. He was very proud to have been one of the original founders of the new Espanola Hospital both on the foundation and directors.
Jim believed in giving back to the community where possible and was one of the key organizers for the world record longest hockey game, raising funds for the Espanola hospital.
Jim also served for 4 years in the 58th L.A.A Regiment Reserve Army as a lance bombardier.
Jim travelled extensively for Bell Canada (Toronto, Ottawa, North East and West Ontario) and enjoyed it immensely. He was an avid sportsman (fishing, hunting, boating) as well as a scuba diver. In his early years he was very athletic, excelling at football, track and field and basketball. Later in life he enjoyed curling in many bonspiels and playing cards with family and friends.
Jim loved driving us nuts with his 50’s and 60’s music and playing the guitar with his beloved Patricia.
Jim had a full and wonderful life with his soulmate Patricia. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed, always loved and never forgotten.

Cremation with a visitation & Memorial Service will be on Friday August 2, 2024 in the Bourcier Funeral Home starting at 1 PM until the time of service at 3 PM with interment to follow in the Espanola Cemetery.
