Obituary
Our lives were forever changed on March 12th, 2024 with the peaceful passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather, and brother at the age of 84 years.
James is survived by his loving wife Edith (nee Rose) of 64 years; daughter, Karen Parsons; and son Tony (Denise) Parsons of Tompkins. He also will be missed by his brother’s, David (Linda) Parsons of Oshawa ON, Kelvin (Jeannett) Parsons of St. John’s NL; sister Marie (Edward) Vickers of Tompkins NL; sister’s in-law Mary Kettle, Kathleen Knott, Jane Chaulk all of Port aux Basques NL, and Margaret (Rollie) Zwicker of Berwick NS, and brother in-law John Wahay of Arnprior ON. He also leaves behind a very large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
James was born at Greenspond, NL to the late Herbert and Kathleen Parsons (nee Way). James was predeceased by his precious granddaughter Jillian Parsons; brothers, Austin Parsons, Boyd Parsons; mother and father in-law Reginald and Violet Rose; brother’s in-law Eric Knott, Maxwell Kettle, James Chaulk, Sam Rose, George Rose, and Robert Rose; sister’s in-law Joan Wahay and Karen Rose.
James was a strong family man who loved his contentment in staying at home with his wife and granddaughter Jillian until her passing.
There will be visitations from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Friday March 15th, 2024 at East Haven Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 16th at 11:00 am at St. James Anglican Church (Port aux Basques) officiated by the Rev. Jane Allan. Internment will follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, TCH. In lieu of flowers, donations in James’s memory may be made to Preserve St. James Campaign email stjamespab@nl.aibn.com.
