It is with sadness that we announce the
passing of James David Haley, 74, of
Tidnish Bridge, NS, on Friday, June 23, 2023 at the Cumberland
Regional Health Care Centre in Amherst. David was born in
Halifax, a son of the late James and Mary (Benoit)
Haley.
David was an avid outdoorsman, he
enjoyed fishing, hunting and four-wheeling. He loved the
beauty of nature and taking photos of things that caught his
eye. He was a fan of old westerns and in particular, The
Rifleman. David’s’ granddaughter, Raven, was the apple of
his eye and he looked forward to time with her.
David will be dearly missed by his
daughter, Christine Haley-Duffy, Tidnish, NS; his granddaughter,
Raven, Tidnish, his sisters, Susan (Lawrence) Field, Moncton, Donna
(Brian Haskill) Haley, Brighton, ON, Kathleen (Stephen) Baxter, Baie
Verte, NB, and Lisa (Ian) Haynes, Tidnish; his brothers, John (Faye)
Haley, Tidnish, and George Haley, Tidnish, as well as several nieces
and nephews.
Besides his parents, David was
predeceased by his sister, Anne MacPhee and his brothers, Robert,
Alan, and half-brother, Donnie Benoit.
Arrangements are under the care and
supervision of the Jones Family Funeral
Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst, NS
(902-667-8777). Cremation has taken place and a graveside
committal service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 3pm at the
St. Charles-Nativity Roman Catholic Cemetery, Amherst.
For those wishing to do so, memorials
may be placed to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the
donors choice.
