Peacefully at Brightshores Owen Sound on January 26, 2024 in her 63rd year. Happily married to her husband Michael for 39 years, treasured mother to Ashley Galea, her husband, Jeff Skerrett, and Ryan Galea. Loving sister to Chris (Zoë) Mulhall and Kevin (Pina) Mulhall. Much loved sister-in-law of Paul (Caroline) Galea, Stephen (Gordana) Galea, Brian (Vicky) Galea, Andrew (Carol) Galea and Anne-Marie (Otto) Puls. She will be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends.
Jackie was born in 1961 to Lou and Donna Mulhall. Jackie aspired to be a nurse and graduated from nursing school in 1982, where she went to work for Toronto General Hospital and remained there for 20 years. Affected by SARS in 2002, Jackie made a career change from being a bedside nurse to teaching nursing for Humber College, where she continued to share her passion for nursing until 2019. Jackie retired to the cottage that same year where she enjoyed spending time with her family and being outdoors. She was a wonderful wife and mother and was always there when anyone needed her. She was the perfect balance of sweet and stern and she will be deeply missed.
The family will welcome friends and family for visitation from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm both Tuesday, January 30th and Wednesday, January 31st. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, February 1st at 11am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church located at 85 Toronto St. S, Markdale. A luncheon will follow the Mass across the street at Annesley United Church Hall. A private interment will take place in the spring.
