It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother on October 11, 2024, in her 95th year. After “hanging in like an old shoe”, she is now reunited with her treasured husband Bern and her parents Edward and Loretto Ford. Proud and loving mother of Brian (Louise), Tim (Cindy), Bernie (Cheryl), Debbie (Mark) Marangoni, and honorary second mother of Christine Neill (Brad). Precious Grandma of Jason (Amanda and Xander), Krystal, Brittany (Brendan), Nicole (Cameron), Spencer (Maddy), Shantel (Hunter), Brady and Conor. Dear sister of Nora (the late Rudy), the late Pat (Marge), Maureen (Al), Mike (Karen) and predeceased by her siblings Catherine (Bernie), Ed (Eleanor), Loretto Ann (Gerry), Marcielle, Helen (Jack), Colleen (Bob), Rosalie, John, Sister Loretto “Mildred”, and Dan.
Jackie was sweet, classy and feisty. She and Bern were known for their love of family and friends, their hosting skills and the impact they had on all who knew them.
Our thanks to the countless people who helped care for the needs of our wonderful mom, including several of her nieces and nephews, Father Rico Passero, Dr. Kate Prangley, and the staff of both St. Joseph’s Villa Adult Day Program and Shalom Manor. She was treated with such love and dignity. God bless you all.
If you so desire, donations to Saint Joseph’s Church or Shalom Manor would be appreciated by the family.
Visitation will be Friday, October 18, 2024, from 2-4 p.m. and 6- 8 p.m. at P.X. Dermody Funeral Home, 796 Upper Gage Ave., Hamilton, ON.
Funeral Mass will be Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Saint Joseph’s Church, 135 Livingston Ave., Grimsby, ON.
Procession to Our Lady of the Angels to follow.
