MULARCHUK, Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Barbara – a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at Ed’s House in Cobourg, Ontario, on Friday, April 26, 2024. Born in Toronto, ON, Jackie was entering her 84th year at the time of her passing. She faced her battle with Stage 4 cancer with unwavering strength and courage, demonstrating her resilience and determination until the very end.
Jackie was a remarkable woman whose life was filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments with her family. She now reunites with the love of her life, George, whom she was married to for 56 years and often spoke of fondly, finding solace in the thought of being reunited with him in her final days.
Throughout her life, Jackie’s greatest joys were found in the company of her children Rick (Karen), Laurie, Patty (Peter) and Derrick (Jaime), grandchildren Victoria (Kyle), Aaron (Lydia), Brooke (Liam), Emerson & Logan, and great-grandchildren Scotia & Hudson. She cherished every moment spent with them, treasuring the love and memories they shared together. Jackie’s warmth and affection left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her, and her legacy of love will continue to live on in the hearts of her family.
Jackie had a zest for life and a wide array of interests and hobbies that brought her joy and fulfillment. She was an avid player of games such as Scrabble, Euchre, and Yahtzee, always relishing in friendly competition and camaraderie with her loved ones. Additionally, Jackie had a passion for scratch tickets and slot machines, finding excitement in the thrill of chance and possibility.
In her quieter moments, Jackie found solace in the art of crocheting, creating beautiful pieces with her skilled hands. She also enjoyed the camaraderie and friendly competition of bowling, sharing many laughs and memories with her fellow bowlers over the years.
Jackie’s presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. While she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will continue to shine brightly through the memories she leaves behind.
Jackie is preceded in death by her parents John & Matilda Mitchell, her eight siblings and beloved husband, George, whose memory she held dear until her final moments. She now rests in peace, reunited with her soulmate for eternity.
In honoring Jackie’s memory, her family invites all who knew and loved her to celebrate her life and legacy. Though she may no longer be by our side, her love and light will forever illuminate our lives.
The Celebration of Life will be held at Rushnell Funeral Homes – Brighton Chapel, 130 Main Street, Brighton, ON (613)-475-2121 on Friday May 3rd, 2024 at 11:00AM. An ‘open house’ type of celebration is planned with a speech around 12:30PM. Coffee, Tea, Water and snacks will be provided by the family.
