Jacqueline Kneteman Obituary
It is with love and great sadness that the family of Jacqueline Ella Kneteman announce her passing on June 2, 2024, at the age of 90. Jacqueline will be lovingly remembered by her children Jeffery (Barbara), Orey (Carol), Bonnie, Gaylayne (Larry) and Jayne (Tim); Daughter in-law Alyson; 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and niece Darolyn Mapplebeck.
Jacqueline was born in Edson, Alberta. She moved to Coalspur, Alberta, as her father was a conductor on the GTP railway. When she was 6 she moved to Edmonton. Jacqueline spent many summers in Edson growing up and it is where she met the love of her life George Kneteman. They were married July 12, 1952, and went on to raise their family.
Jacqueline was actively involved in Edson’s community life. She served on the board of the Edson & District Historical Society for many years. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and camping beside a lake, river or creek. She was an avid gardener. Jacqueline also loved to travel. Hawaii was one of her favorite destinations. Jacqueline always enjoyed a backyard wiener roast. Jacqueline made many long-term friendships throughout her life. She loved to tell stories. She truly lived a full life.
Jacqueline will be fondly remembered for her kindness and smiling face. We could always count on her love and support. As we learn to navigate life without her, we will always remember how blessed we were to have her in our lives.
Jacqueline was predeceased by her beloved husband George, sons Bruce & Leonard, son in-law Dwight McLeod, parents Samuel & Minnie Sutherland, brothers Orey Sutherland, Len Sutherland and sister Violet Harvey, niece Jackie Schleppe, nephews Jimmy Sutherland and Garry Sutherland.
A Celebration of Life for Jacqueline will be held on June 13, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion in Edson, Alberta. Interment at the Glenwood Cemetery in Edson.
For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Parkland Senior’s Lodge in Edson, Alberta or a charity of your choice.
