Trudy Friesen Nee Stuivenberg Jack Friesen

Obituary for Trudy Friesen:
On Thursday December 29, Trudy (Stuivenberg) Friesen passed away at the Lacombe Hospital and Care Center at the age of 83. Trudy is survived by her loving husband and largest supporter Jack, two sons (Rob & Ed), three grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Trudy was born on the 5 of April 1939 in Enschede, Netherlands. She immigrated with her family to Canada in 1952 where they started a new chapter in their lives.
In 1958, Trudy and Jack got married at Medicine Hat. Shortly after the marriage the two started their new life and family in Lacombe where they spent a majority of their lives.
Trudy dedicated her life to family and making sure we were supported in whatever we did and that we never felt anything other than loved. She also strived to make the community of Lacombe a better place for all. She did this through her volunteer work and getting involve in committees and organizations to help in any way she could to ensure the success of the project.
Trudy was an avid swimmer and often helped the staff open the pool in the morning. The people who participated in the early morning swim can attest to the closeness and comradery of this group.
Trudy was also a member of the Lacombe Community Band for over 40 years playing her clarinet. Trudy’s musical talents were not limited to the clarinet and was also very accomplished on the piano.
Though out her life Trudy tried to make others comfortable and feel wanted. Even in sickness this character trait came through. It is with great fondness and appreciation that during her final days Trudy was surrounded by a great number of good friends and family.

A Funeral Services will be held for both Jack and Trudy at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel on Friday January 20, 2023 at 10:00 am followed by a Come and Go Celebration of Life at the Lacombe Legion at 12:00 noon.
