Preston, John «Jack» Francis
Peacefully at the Smiths Falls District Hospital on Friday, August 23, 2024, at the age of 92. Beloved husband for over 69 years to Teresa Preston. Loving father of Joanne (Tim) Hart, Kathy Preston, and Mike (Amy) Preston. Cherished grandfather of Michelle (Brent), Sam (Joey), Jackie (Mark), Andy (Steph), Mack (Christine), and Alli. Forever missed by his great grandchildren Maddie, Paige, Trent and Brooks.
He was known for his infectious love of life and loved to travel, golf, ski, play soccer and garden. He was very social, always ready with a big hug and looking to share a glass of wine or scotch. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 11:00am. A reception at Hanley Hall will immediately follow the memorial service. Interment will take place at Blessed Sacrament Cemetery, Lombardy, immediately following the reception. Those wishing may make memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Lannin Funeral Home.
