Jack was a hard-working man who grew up on a homestead in rural Carrot Creek, AB. Literally a jack of all trades, he did it all. He developed land, farmed, ran his own oilfield construction business, ran a pizza place and most recently a second hand store filled with antiques from a bygone era, fond reminders of the past. People came from miles around to taste his amazing homemade pizza. We remember the many trips he took with items for shelters. It was important to Jack to give back to the community and help others whenever possible. In his later years, he was mostly retired and surrounded himself with great friends. All this, and the fact he loved to keep active. When he wasn’t busy helping someone, he was tied up with tinkering around the house and working on random projects.
To take a page from his script, Jack was a “hell of a guy”. All that came into contact with Jack felt his kindness, and he befriended any and all that he came across. He loved to sit around with his friends and enjoy coffee and good stories. Jack brought out the good in everyone and truly lived the golden rule of doing unto others as they would have to you. His daughters try hard to model his behavior day in and out. This “old boy” will be missed and remembered by all, especially his daughters Tracy and Shelley, and grandkids Tasha and Jack.
We are grateful to the community of Logan Lake for their kindness and support. Jack was able to live his final days doing the things he loved thanks to his dear friends.
