Ivan Howard McNutt – 95, Truro. It is with broken
hearts that we announce the passing of Ivan Howard McNutt on Monday,
March 18, 2024, at Shannex Vimy Court, Bible Hill. Born in Bible Hill,
he was a son of the late Howard and Mamie McNutt.
Ivan is survived by his children, Bruce (Irene) McNutt, Terry
(Sylvia) McNutt, Jude (Dave Loughead) Norris, Doug (Elaine) McNutt;
grandchildren, David Andrew (Karen) Loughead, Jason McNutt, Caitlin
(Jordan) Docherty, Carla (Brian) Currie; great grandchildren, Olivia,
Selina, Piper, Isabel, Brantley; many nieces and nephews. Along with
his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Gwendolyn (Delaney);
sisters, Thelma, Irene, Clare.
Ivan loved his family and always lit up when his
grandchildren and great grandchildren would come for a visit. He had a
sense of humour only few understood and a smile that would light up a
room. He enjoyed being with his family and going for picnics with
them. Ivan worked with CN for 38 years, starting his career as a
brakeman and ended by programming the trains. In his younger years, he
loved to play hockey, dance and skate with Mum, and enjoyed playing
cards at the Emerson Club.
Special thanks are extended to the staff at Shannex Vimy
Court, especially those who work on Derry Lane.
A celebration of Ivan’s life and interment will be
held at a later date. If so desired, donations in Ivan’s
memory to Shannex Vimy Court (Recreation Department) are
welcomed.
