Obituary
It is with heavy hearts, yet with gratitude for a long life well lived, that we announce the passing of Italo, on June 3, 2024, at 96 years of age. Cherished husband of Barbara (nee Binkosky) for 63 years. Loving father of Kevin (Laura), Carey, Jamie, Carla (Mark) and Trina (Joe). Proud grandfather of Alyssa, Ariana and Anissa. Italo was predeceased by his parents Carlo and Maria, sister Antoinette Galassi, brothers John, Ivan, Joe, Dominic (Helen) and Rudy, sister-in-law Katherine Touratzikian and brother-in-law Raymond (Diane) Binkosky. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Italo made many good friends through the years. We are certain of a glorious celebration in heaven when he is reunited with his family and friends. Italo was a plumber by trade and worked for the City of Hamilton for many years. He was a very proud member of Local 67 for 78 years and attended countless union picnics, pin nights and Labour Day parades throughout the years. We are grateful to the union for ensuring Dad always received the latest caps and sweaters which he loved so much. Dad will be remembered for family day trips on his holidays, spending long summer days in his garden, making sauce on Sundays, and always keeping himself busy. Thank you to the staff at Juravinski Hospital and Emmanuel House for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. Please join the family at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL; 43 Barton St. E., on Thursday, June 6, from 2-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church, 305 E 37th St., Hamilton, on Friday, June 7th, 2024 at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations to Emmanuel House would be appreciated if you so desire.
