Irene passed away peacefully on June 7th, 2023 with her son and granddaughter by her side at the age of 91. Predeceased by husbands Paul (1963) and Roger (2004). Beloved mother of Jerome and wife Jane, Jacqueline Pruyn, Claudette Gagnier, Marcel and wife Michelle, Paulette and husband Brian Walker, Michael and wife Heather and Kimberly Van Horne. Dear Grandma of Jayson, the late Jennifer (2016), Jason P., Josceline, Paul, Rachael, the late Chad (2019), Marilyn, Kyle, Nicole, Jeremy and many great-grandchilren. Daughter of the late Wilfred and Flora Damphousse. Predeceased by siblings Armand, Eloria, Alice, Victor, Marcel, Julia, Phillipe and Helen.
Irene worked part-time since Paul’s death at various jobs such as cashier, former sales rep for businesses including CAA, Canadian Tire, IGA, Beaver Lumber and the photo studio at The Bay. She was a dedicated volunteer for over 35 years at the Cancer Clinic. In her younger years, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing and bowling. If you so desire, donations to the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Visiting Sunday, June 11, 2023 from 2-6 p.m. at Families First 1065 Lauzon Rd. East Windsor. Visiting Monday, June 12, 2023 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Ste. Anne’s Parish. Burial to follow at Ste. Anne’s Cemetery.
