It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing
of my very special wife, Irène LeBlanc, peacefully
surrounded by her family at the age of 79, on Saturday October 14,
2023 at the Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Scoudouc, she was the
daughter of the late Vital and Juliette (Melanson)
Bourgeois.
She was a devoted, loving and caring wife and mother.
Nothing made her happier than to be surrounded by her family at family
dinners and activities, especially with her son the late Richard, her
sister Florence, her nephews Serge (Connie) Bourgeois, Vincent
(Carole) Bourgeois, grand-nephews Luc and the late Nicholas, whom she
took as her grandsons, and her great-nephew Benjamin, whom she loved
and adored dearly. A Nénène so special to her
family. The love she felt for her family was incredible.
Irène was very devoted to her family. She was an amazing
and exceptional wife. The love between us was so beautiful. It was
unconditional love. She was the love of my
life.
Before our son Richard was born, she worked at the
Royal Bank and Bank of Montreal, Daigle Lumber and a snowmobile store.
She volunteered with the Canadian Cancer Society, the Blood Donor
Clinic and the Shediac Rectory for many
years.
She is survived by her sister Florence Bourgeois of
Shediac, her adopted brother Gérald Melanson (late Yvonne)
of Ayer, MA, brothers-in-law Guy (Mai) of Shediac, Marc (Sally) of
Alberta, Joe (Louise) of Shediac, sisters-in-law Johanna LeBlanc (late
Edouard «Ned») of Moncton, Jeanne LeBlanc (late Albert
«Barr») of Shediac, Noëlla LeBlanc of Shediac,
Marie St-Hilaire of Shediac, Diane Bourgeois (Daniel) of Shediac,
Jeannette Luce (Donald) of Shediac, Manon LeBlanc (late Claude) of
Québec, godchildren Serge, Margot, Isabelle, Denis and
Francis, as well as many cousins, nephews and nieces whom she loved
dearly.
She was predeceased by our beloved son Richard and
our great-nephew Nicholas.
Irène now
rests peacefully in the arms of God surrounded by our dear son
Richard, our great-nephew Nicholas, and her deeply missed mother and
father. Rest in peace my dear wife. To the love of my life, I will
miss you forever. Until we meet again love always Edmond
xox.
We would like to thank
the Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital UHC, especially 4F and 3A, for their
excellent care during her stay, and Dr. Bensalem Mahmoud and Dr.
Mélanie Desjardins-Godbout for their excellent
service.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette
Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac, on Thursday
October 19 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and on Friday October 20 from
9:45 am until time of departure (10:45 am). The funeral mass will be
celebrated at St-Joseph R.C. Church, 415 Main Street, Shediac, on
Friday October 20 at 11 am. Interment will be in St-Joseph Cemetery,
Shediac.
In Irène’s memory, contributions to the
Canadian Mental Health Association of New Brunswick, Muscular
Dystrophy Canada or to a charity of the donor’s choice would
be appreciated.
