It is with heavy hearts that the family of Irene Burke announces her passing on December 6, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in England, on June 26, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Sonny and Daphne (nee. Storey) Turner.
Irene is survived by her loving daughter Melissa; sons John (Sarah) and Christopher (Janet); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Stewart (Anne); sisters: Denise (Jim), Elaine (Ken), Gillian (Michael), Dawn, and Alison (Granville); many nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as her good Canadian friends Pam, Robbie and Karen who have taken care of her over the last few years;
Irene was a kind and fun-loving person. She enjoyed gardening and loved her flowers, arts and crafts, and puzzles. She was part of a local bowling league and volunteered for cancer research.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB E2J 2G3; (506) 646-2424.
