It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Murielle Oakley, 75, after a brief battle with cancer, on January 12th, 2024, at the Albert House Hospice in Moncton.
Born in Cocagne, she was the daughter of the late Émile and the late Dorice Després (Belliveau).
Murielle will be sadly missed by her children: Joey Oakley (Leeanne) of Cape Breton, Joanne Oakley (Michel Ouellet) of Moncton, and Joyce Merkle (David) of Buffalo, New York; her grandchildren: Alyssa, Jenna, Érika, Véronik, Brenden, Hannah, and Morgan; her brothers: Arsène (Lorraine), Paul-Émile (Dora), Yvon (Jacqueline), and Roger (Viola); her sisters: Effie Kilen (late Pat), Louise Péronnet (Jean), and Yvette Després (Jean); as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James; her brother, Rhéal; as well as her brother-in-law, Ronald Oakley (Faye).
Visitation will be held at Passage (3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge) on Thursday, January 18th, 2024, from 3:30pm until 5:00pm. A celebration of life will be held in the chapel at 5:00pm.
Donations in memory of Murielle can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Albert House Hospice.
