Grande-Digue, NB – It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Aurèle Babineau, 83, on Wednesday, August 7th, 2024, at his residence.
Born in Grande-Digue, NB, he was the son of the late Edelbert and the late Laura (LeBlanc) Babineau.
Prior to his retirement, he had worked for la Fédération des Caisses Populaires Acadiennes, he was also manager of la Caisse-Populaire de Grande-Digue. Aurèle was very involved in his community, having done volunteer work a large part of his retired life. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd degree, council # 7535, he was a founding member of “Notre Centre”, a member of the Club d’Age d’Or de Grande-Digue, a former board member at Passage Funeral Cooperative and many more organisations.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rosaline (Richard) Babineau; by his children: Reginald (Linda) of St-André-LeBlanc, Janice LeBlanc (Louis) of Dieppe, Marc “Marky” (Denise) of Grande-Digue and Donald (Susan) of Riverview; by his grandchildren: Jérémie, Danika and Erica; by his sister, Laudia Hébert (late Laurie) of Grande-Digue; by his brother, Edmond Babineau (Annette) of Waltham, Mass; by his sisters-in-law: Nélida Babineau (late Robert) of Shediac and Rita Babineau (late Eugène) of Marlboro, Mass, the extended Richard Family and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters: Eveline (Armand) and Dorice (Irenée) and by his brothers: Valmont (Antoinette), Robert, Camille (Maria) and Eugène.
Visitation will be held from Passage, 3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge, NB, (506) 532-1050, on Sunday, August 11th, 2024, from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm.
Funeral mass will be held from La Visitation RC Church, Grande-Digue, on Monday, August 12th, 2024, at 3 pm.
In Aurèle’s memory, a donation can be made to the CHU Dumont Foundation or to Pépére Boîte à Lunch.
