ALMA STEWART
December 5, 1928 – December 22, 2023
95 years old never looked better. Elmer (Alma) had a great extended birthday weekend with many of her favorite things: family, good food and drink, sleep overs at Madison, nice outfits, drives to the Pt. du Chene wharf and cottage, card games, puzzling, laughter. Within a week things changed. The batteries in our energizer bunny slowly gave out. Her parts started to fail. Yet her humor remained. Ever vigilant in the pursuit of fun, Elmer made jokes as best she could to entertain those in the CCU in The Moncton Hospital and those in general surgery, all of whom were wonderful in their care of her. Then, with two of her grandchildren standing guard, late at night on December 22, 2023 Elmer went on to join the only man she ever found worthy, Jack Stewart, who never failed to remind “ Your mother is the light of my life”. Our family is ever grateful for all those at Camden Park Terrace, staff and friends alike, who over the last seven years assisted, entertained, kept company, cared for Elmer and made her laugh. Thank you. In accordance with her instructions , there will be no ceremony for Elmer at this time: that will wait for a fair summer day.
