Peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital on Sunday, July 30, 2023. Ian Roderick MacKay formerly of Dalhousie, QC; age 69 years. Former husband of the late Susan Crites-MacKay. Loving father of Matthew McKay (Maddison) and Carter McKay (Kelsey Badger). Predeceased by his parents Daniel McKay and Ethel MacLeod. Dear brother of late Karen Anne McKay, Catherine Grant (Hugh) of St. Raphael’s, late Laurie McKay-Levac (Stephane of Dalhousie, Qc), Gail Webster (Tom) of Alexandria, David McKay (Marielle Robert) of Dalhousie, QC and Kim McKay (Louis Verdoni) of Vaudreuil, QC. Cherished grandfather of Bentley and Lark. Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd. 114 Main Street South, Alexandria (613)525-2772. A Celebration of Ian’s Life will be held at the Alexandria Curling Club; Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 1 – 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society to the Dan McKay Memorial Golf Foundation, would be appreciated by the family.
