With sorrow we announce the passing of Ian Peter Armstrong of Lee Valley on October 19, 2023 in his 75th year. Ian is survived by the love of his life and best friend Lise (Bourcier), sister Sue Angus (David) of Edmonton, his brother-in-law’s Richard (Robin), Mike (Kim predeceased), Andrew (Alison), Chris (Jodi) and sister-in-law Nicky Hopkins (Jim) all of Espanola. Ian was predeceased by his father Dr. Willard Armstrong, his mother Jessie Armstrong, his brother Bill his wife Ann (both predeceased) and sister Barbara, husband Don Parson (both predeceased)
Ian was a much-loved uncle of many nieces and nephews, none more so than his “best buddy ever Roone” and his “telle belle fille” Jenna. He so much valued his many friendships over the years and we must extend a special thank you to Ernie Paul and his wife Marni in Hornepayne whose love, care and thoughtfulness in this difficult time is so much appreciated.
After his love of family, Ian’s passion was the outdoors, be it working around the house in Lee Valley, his annual hunting trips, walks and drives in the Valley with Lise and their dogs as well as time spent with family at Cutler Lake.
Though he may no longer be with us, we know Ian is once again walking with his “canine kids” Brandy, Major, Trooper, Squirt, Shadow and Blondie. Happy trails Ian, we love you.
A private internment of ashes in the Lee Valley Cemetery will be held a later date. If desired, donations to Pet Save Sudbury in Ian’s memory would be appreciated. Arrangements by BOURCIER FUNERAL HOME Ltd, Espanola.
