Obituary
Passed away suddenly at the Carbonear General Hospital in the presence of her family on August 8, 2024, Hilda Halfyard of Cavendish, aged 70 years.
Predeceased by husband, Scott; parents, Leroy and Kathleen Newhook; parents-in-law, Albert and Ruth Halfyard; brother-in-law, Cyril; and special friend, Les Crocker.
Leaving to mourn and to celebrate her life with precious memories are her daughter, April (Bradley) Higdon; grandchildren, Ashton, Aiden, and AJ; special friend and loving partner, Roy Crann and his mom, Myrtle; sister, Donna (Rene) Jackson; brothers, David (Linda) Newhook and Gary (Sandra) Newhook; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ira (Linda) Halfyard, Wesley (Brenda) Halfyard, Fred (Cheryl) Halfyard, and Levi Halfyard (Margie Howell); as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Special thanks to Hilda’s life long friend, Debbie Crocker; special niece, Renee Jackson and to Sandra and Phil Higdon.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held at the Cavendish Community Centre on Monday, August 12, 2:00 – 4:00pm and 7:00 – 9:00pm and Tuesday, August 13, 10:00am – 12 Noon.
A celebration of Hilda’s life will be held at the Cavendish Community Centre on Tuesday, August 13 at 2:00pm with inurnment to follow at Cavendish United Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in Hilda’s memory may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to help cure the disease that has touched a very special person in our lives, great-nephew, Benjamin.
