In loving memory of Henry Wolski 68 years. Passed away in at the Ottawa Hospital on Wednesday, December 18th, 2024.
Henry once said he lived twenty lifetimes during his sixty-eight years—whether it was boar hunting in a Russian forest, challenging Kasparov to a chess game as a village champion in a Moscow restaurant or winning a case of beer still owed by Tretiak over a Canada/Russia hockey game. There are so many stories told by his friends about his mischievous and exciting adventures.
He lived fearlessly, travelling to 96 countries while working as an engineer in Russia and Kazakhstan for 23 years. In the end, he returned to his roots in Sudbury with his beloved and devoted wife, Lenushka because he loved the people, lakes, and fishing the most.
He is survived by his “best daughter” Katya, eight nieces and nephews, a great-nephew and great-niece, and his brother, Ed, and sister, Genevieve.
Many thanks to the outstanding medical and support staff at The Ottawa Hospital, and at Health Sciences North in Sudbury. You are amazing and appreciated so much.
Funeral service for Henry will be held on Tuesday, December 24th, 2024, at 10am at St. Peter and Paul Serbian Orthodox Church 515 Antwerp Ave, Sudbury. Friends may gather at the church after 9:30 am on Tuesday. Interment in the Civic Cemetery on Second Avenue will follow.
