It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden death of Henry “Bud” Witherall, on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Sydney Mines on April 3, 1943, Henry was the son of the late George and Mary (McNeil) Witherall.
Henry is survived by his children; Vince Witherall, Kim Poplestone, Karen Hunt and Tanya (Patrick) Marks. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Leah, Natalie, Tyler, Kaiya, Mila, Pria and a great-grandson Nolan.
In addition to his parents, Henry was predeceased by his loving wife Elvira Marlena Witherall and by his seven siblings, Helen, Leo, Kevin, Corry, Paul and Veronica.
Henry moved to Ontario to pursue his occupation at Good Year Tire, where he worked close to forty years. He then decided to move back to Cape Breton in 1991. He enjoyed spending his free time playing guitar, playing cards and spending time with his grandchildren.
There will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home at 107 Pleasant St. in North Sydney. Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
