On April 5, 2024, Henry Matthews passed away peacefully in his 69th year, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He died in the loving arms of his wife of 50 years, Nancy, and surrounded by his sons Henry (Krissye), and Alexander (Kaylee), sister Edie (Leo), and brother Bill. Cherished grandpa to Ethan, Reid, and Edwin. Survived by his mother-in-law Rose. He will be missed by a special niece Kimberley, great nieces, great- nephews, and cousins. Henry will be joining his mother Edith, father Henry, younger brother Ronald, older brother Leonard, and father-in-law Crofton.
As per Henry’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at White Chapel Cemetery at a later date. The family extends sincere gratitude to all our family, friends, and David for all their support during this difficult time.
The family would also like to thank Dr. Daniel Stevens and staff, Dr. Sandy and her nurse Lisa, St. Joseph’s home care, palliative care support, and St. Peter’s Hospital’s wonderful staff.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Henry’s memory to Fur Warriors Rescue, and would be sincerely appreciated by his family. E-transfer is info@furwarriors.com.
