Henrietta Hazel Commanda (nee Trudeau) Sunrise November 16, 1969 Sunset November 17, 2023 Descendant of Shawanda/Trudeau families Daughter of Sylvia Shawanda-Trudeau and Henry Dempsey Trudeau (both predeceased); and loving mother to baby son, Luke (predeceased). Survived by Children – Devin (Sagamok), Amber (Cornwall), and Shoshannah(Miami City, Florida) and Siblings – David (wife Myra) from Sagamok, Marcia Trudeau (Cornwall), Rock (Southbay, Wikwemikong) and Aunts Madeline (Herman Wemigwans), Donna Wemigwans, Constance Shawanda, Patricia-Shawanda-Trudeau, Rose Winn of Rochester, MI (both predeceased), Winnifred Trudeau Fox, Pauline Trudeau Wesley and Uncles Philip Shawanda (predeceased), Abraham Shawanda, (John, Russell, Alphie, Grenville, Gabriel, Peter, Aloysius Trudeau – all predeceased); nieces and nephews, many cousins and relatives. A special Godmother to Jayden Trudeau. Henrietta a.k.a. “Henri” will be missed dearly. Our dearly beloved “Henri” had many interests. In her younger days she was a very fast runner, always participating in cross-country running activities, spending her summer days swimming at Steven’s beach and later on in Thomas Bay and most days you would find her playing with her cousins in the bush from making tree houses, gathering natural foods and skating on the local ice rink, ‘ziikaasiing’. She loved camping and spent a lot of time around the fire with her mom and siblings, storytelling and relaxing. As she got older her interests included bingo, gaming and casinos (for work and play), going for long walks, picking fresh berries, puzzles and of course she loved “Tweedy Bird”. Henri had a passion for hairdressing, which she chose as her profession. As life would have it, change happened and she became a Bus Driver, with tenures in Sagamok, Sudbury, Nipissing, and in Southern Ontario. She also achieved many other certificates in her lifetime. Visitation will be at the New Community Hall in Sagamok Anishnawbek. Funeral Services will be on Saturday November 25, 2023 at 10:30 am. Cremation to follow. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring of 2024. Arrangements by BOURCIER FUNERAL HOME Ltd, Espanola.
