Obituary
Peacefully, at Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce – Chapman House in Owen Sound, on Tuesday, August 1st, 2023. Helen Marie Catherine Eyre (née Showers), of Owen Sound, in her 84th year.
Dearly beloved wife of the late Earle Wilson “Bill” Eyre. Loving mother of Gordon Eyre and his wife, Barbara, of Chatsworth, Brenda Green of Owen Sound, Susan Cowling and her husband, Dennis, of Ottawa, Edward Eyre of Sarnia, Linda Quesnel and her husband, Steve White, of Sarnia, and Sherry Cornfield and her husband, Barry, of Wiarton.
Proud grandmother of seventeen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, James and Matilda Showers (née Atwood); her siblings Chris Maxwell, Betty Caudle, and Carl Showers.
A Memorial Come and Go Visitation will be held on September 23, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound (519-376-7492). A private family burial will follow at Bayview Cemetery, Wiarton.
