Helen Blair Rooney
– 89, passed away on May 28, 2024 in the Grey Nuns Hospital,
Edmonton, Alberta.
Born in Reserve Mines,
Cape Breton, Helen was the daughter of the late Matthew
«Wilson» and Margaret (Rennie) MacIntyre. She moved to
Alberta in 2017 to be closer to her family. She enjoyed family get
togethers where she was the life of the party. We will miss her wicked
sense of humour, infectious laugh and Cape Breton sayings. She was
kind, generous and loyal.
Helen is survived by
son, Daryl (Kristine) Rooney of Sherwood Park; granddaughter, Meghan
(Lockin) Sullivan of Sherwood Park; grandson, Brent (Travis) Rippon of
Edmonton; great-grandchildren, Avis Sullivan and Hayden Sullivan;
son-in-law, David Rippon of Fort Saskatchewan; many nieces and
nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her
husband, Burnell; daughter, Brenda; brothers, Archibald, Norman and
Robert; sisters, Sarah, Agnes and Isabel.
There will be no
visitation, by request. Cremation has already taken place. Funeral
service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on July 11, 2024 in the White Family
Funeral Home, Kentville with Reverend Ivan Norton officiating. Burial
will be held in Jaw Bone Corner Cemetery. Donations in memory of Helen
may be made to the Alzheimer Society or charity of your choice.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral
Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
